Well, this is a bit late since this latest mini album from
Dirty Old Men, Blazing, was officially released on May 7. This band has been my new addiction. I fell for their music because of Yowamushi Pedal. Two of their singles, Yomawushi na Honou and I'm Ready (feat Autribe), were used as the sport series' theme song. Both songs are featured in their mini album.
Dirty Old Men rocked the fans with their earlier single released on February 19, Yowamushi na Honou, which serves as the first track in Blazing. The upbeat melody is perfectly suitable to give a good first impression.
Next, the guys prepared us Kishikaisei Wonder. I didn't pay too much attention on the lyric, but remembering that this is Dirty Old Men, expect another poetic lyric. This cheerful song will make you dance softly and inconsciously smile while listening.
My favorite song after Yowamushi na Honou in this album, pain+ has a bit deep lyric. Of course, they wrap it up wonderfully with nice melody.
Yozora no BGM is quite earcatchy but leaves me less impression compared to the previous three I mentioned. The rhythm and melody are moreless the same with songs from their earlier albums. Good but plain.
Among the upbeat songs, Dirty Old Men slipped in the slow beat one, In room. If you're in bad mood and need something to save your day, then this fifth track is your best choice. I specially love the reffrain part.
The last new song is following page, a slow beat song. Sorry guys, this song fails to amaze me. It's too plain and sounds too much like your earlier releases.
Basically Blazing contains only seven 100% new songs. The three last tracks are the live version of the previous songs, Kokyuu, Sakuragawa, and Statice.
