Life is Short, so Treasure It

Life is quite hectic. It’s been like a roller coaster.
Because everyone loves good news, then I’ll share the good ones first.

I just got notification that my salary is officially risen. Now I’m paid almost double.

*celebration needed, with takoyaki, perhaps?*

Yuma loves girls with long black hair and he loves watching Umizaru.

You never know how much I held back when I read this. I feel like I wanted to shout, “Then Yuma must’ve loved me!!!” but I won’t do that because Yuma is an underage
Apparently Yuma and I share the same interest. At least I’m not the only one who thinks that Itou Hideaki is cool XDDD

I bought new shoes, it’s lovely~

I decided to buy the new pair because the old ones which I usually wear to work is almost broken. Due to my own stupidity, the left one was stained with oil. I washed it several times but the stain don’t come off at all T____T
The color fades away because of the detergent and the velvet is in bad shape.

A bunch of baby pictures can drive away my bad mood.

My dad is totally in love with her. That’s why he printed this picture in big size and hung it right in front of his room. He even talks to this picture XDD

She got her hair shaved at her 40th day birthday. It’s Javanese tradition. When a baby celebrates his/her 40th day birthday, he/she will get his/her hair shaved and nails cut. My uncle and auntie shaved her. She was sleeping safe and sound during the shaving. She only woke up to ask for a drink and back to sleep.

Sleeping peacefully after shaving.

Last Saturday, my friend’s wife passed away. She suffered from tuberculosis for years.

Earlier this year she was stated tuberculosis free but her health got worse after Idul Fitri (September 2009). She came in and out of the hospital several times. Later, her parents and husband were taking care of her at home. Since her lungs didn’t work properly. It couldn’t flare so it affected her brain. Sometimes she talked about something totally out of topic due to brain malfunction.

I still remember her face clearly. When she died, she was at the same age as me. She was very well-known in my office. Around 1993-1994, she was awarded for her brilliant result in study. She was national best student of the era. I really envied her.

Few years ago she joined the company where I work. She made people fell in love with her in an instant. Her good attitude and cleverness stole people’s heart. Oh, I admit, I was jealous. She was about to have a good career in the company. But she decided to quit because she was getting married with my co-worker. Both of them quitted the company and moved to Jakarta.

A year after the marriage, they had a very cute son. Soon after, her health started to drop. She was hospitalized few days after giving birth. Since then, she was unable to raise her child. Her mother took over her role.

I never tried to be good friends with her. And I don’t quite understand why. Maybe it was just my pride stopping me from being nice to her.

The day before her death, somehow I felt the urge to pray for her. Pray so God would give her the best way. If she was meant to live a short life, then God should take her away so she wouldn’t feel pain any longer. If she wasn’t, then I prayed God would cure her. The next day, she died. Her parents and husband were there beside her when she took her last breath.

So long, Dear. Your boat sailed before me. I hope your path is filled with God’s light so your boat won’t loose its way.

Her death has given me great lessons. Life is short, so live it to the fullest. Do things you want so you won’t regret it someday. But the greatest lesson is never take your health lightly.

So, my dear f-lists, never think to commit suicide. Life is too wonderful to be wasted.
