Farewell, Gin-chan...

Apr 04, 2016 16:51

After several serious arcs the past few months, the odd samurai Sakata Gintoki finally closed the curtain of his life story. Gintama finished airing last week in episode 51.

I thought Bandai Namco Pictures would extend the episode but they didn't. Sad, but that's reality *sobs*

Farewell Shinsengumi became the last arc of Gintama anime. At the closing scene BNP gave fans a faint hope for another season but new season hasn't been green lit yet.

Led by Kondou Isao, the shinsengumi boys left the capital. Not to admit defeat, but to regroup and build another strategy to fight against the tyrant shogun Tokugawa Nobunobu. From rival to partner, the shinsengumi agreed to join hands with Joi-shishi rebels led by Katsura Kotarou to protect the citizen and bring peace back to the country.

Our yorozuya trio -Sakata Gintoki, Shimura Shinpachi, and Kagura- decided to hold the fortress wagering their own lives because they want to protect the citizen who have lost their loyal protectors: the shinsengumi and mimawarigumi.

Before bidding farewell to the capital, Kondou stalked his beloved girl Shimura Otae for the last time. This time she didn't hit or get angry to him. She wished him a good luck. Meanwhile the energetic Kagura and Okita Sougo have their own unique way to bid farewell.

What a tearjerking finale. The story had been so serious since Shogun Assassination arc. After the death of Shogun Tokugawa Shigeshige, the country is having a downfall. No more gag, no more random case coming to the yorozuya folks.

Hopefully new season is coming soon. I can't wait to see the guys come back kicking some badasses. With the alliance of three parties: shinsengumi, mimawarigumi, and Joi-shishi rebels, things would be wilder and more interesting.

anime, gintama
