If you love cycling and feel like competing, you might want to join Yowamushi Pedal Cycle Road Race that is going to be held on September 26. The Yowamushi Pedal-themed bicycle racing event sponsored by Good Smile Company will take place in Utsunomiya's Hero Shinoi Circuit, Japan.
The race will be divided into three main events. First, the team sprint. Starting at 9.50 AM, the teams of three to six cyclists must form a line and follow the leader as closely as possible. Formation break isn’t allowed.
Second, the criterium that will start at 11.50 AM. Cyclists will race along a set track. At 1.30 PM, the third event, endurance race, will challenge solo participant or teams of up to six cyclists to collectively keep up a good pace over the course of three hours. The races are divided into different categories depending on experience, gender, or bicycle. Cyclists are required to wear helmets and gloves and advised to wear cycling outfits, preferably Yowamushi Pedal-branded ones.
A tutorial session for beginners will be held on 8.30 AM. There’ll also be commemorative photography session, an awards ceremony, food, and Yowamushi Pedal merchandise vendors.
Registration begins tomorrow (August 12). Those who want to participate can sign up
here. Entry fee is 1,000 yen (spectators). Those who want to participate in city bicycle category of the criterium must pay 2,000 yen while higher fee applies for team endurance race, which is 17,000 yen.
