Garo Anime 2nd Season Will Have Katsura Masakazu as Character Designer
After the first anime series, Garo: Honou no Kokuin ended earlier this year, Studio MAPPA confirmed the second series will come soon. But hold your horses, people!
Producer Maruyama Matsuo stated at Otakon panel in July that the series won't have the same setting as the previous season. The second season titled Garo ~Guren no Tsuki~ (Garo ~Moon of Crimson~)will have different story, different characters, and different setting. The story is set in Japan's Heian period.
Last week the official site of Garo anime updated its front page with Katsura Masakazu's name listed as the character designer. The website makes fans more curious by posted key visual of the characters in silhouette.
A teaser video is also up for fans to watch.
The silhouette shown in the video is the main character, Raikou who's described as someone who attacks the darkness.
I don't want to set my expectation too high so I won't get disappointed again. Honou no Kokuin was a big disappointment. I'd rather see the animated version of Saejima Kouga and the original story of Garo instead of a whole new universe with a weak character and weak plot development.
But I might watch Guren no Tsuki just because of Katsura Masakazu. He is the one who's responsible for Tiger & Bunny character design. Katsura is also known for his original work, Zetman.
