Bakuman. Movie Will Open on October 3
After confronting each other in Rurouni Kenshin as enemy, Satou Takeru and Kamiki Ryunosuke will be paired (again) in Bakuman. The news about Bakuman. live-action movie adaptation has been circulating for nearly a year with no further news until this morning.
Mainichi Shimbun paper's Mantan-Web site reported that the film will open on October 3.

A new visual was also unveiled which shows Satou Takeru (playing Mashiro Moritaka) and Kamiki Ryunosuke (Takagi Akito) holding art drawn by the original mangaka Obata Takeshi. The text Takeru holds means "draw" while Ryunosuke's "until you reach the top of Jump".
So far Bakuman. official website only has three menus: introduction, cast, and staff. The staff section only lists three names: Ohba Tsugumi, Obata Takeshi, and Oone Hitoshi who helms the movie.
In the said section Obata-sensei revealed that he's actively involved in the production as he contributes his art for the movie for various manga that Mashiro draws.
"When the movie adaptation begins, I'm very happy. I'm involved not only in the script writing as the original mangaka, but also in the production. I'm eager to see how it'll turn out," Obata stated in Bakuman. movie official site.
Ohba added, "While I'm surprised and happy to know Bakuman. gets a movie adaptation, I'm more surprised when I know the gorgeous cast."
The original manga by Ohba Tsugumi (story) and Obata Takeshi (art) tells a story about two friends who aim to be mangaka. Their dream is to have their manga serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shounen Jump magazine. As everybody already knows, Weekly Shounen Jump is not fictional magazine. It does exist.
Komatsu Nana will be playing Azuki Miho. Kiritani Kenta plays Fukuda Shinta and Minagawa Sarutoki as Nakai Takurou. Arai Hirofumi is cast Hiramaru Kazuya and Sometani Shouta as Niizuma Eiji.
