(or more like the whole day cause there was a movie from china too earlier)
first off, made sure to get there early enough to see all of kaze tachinu!
WHICH MADE ME WANT TO CRY BUT I HAD TO HOLD MY TEARS
...AND GOT A HEADACHE BECAUSE OF IT >____<
the animation was just so smooth and beautiful, and the transition through the years and going from dream to reality as well...and just the whole story, it was so beautiful and bittersweet i wanna cry again just thinking about it ;___; ugh miyazaki hayao's amazing♥
then we went COMPLETELY different with moebius. which i only watched half of, because the storyline was just too much for me (and i really didn't want to miss any of the midnight one) ...but it was really well shot and the acting &body language of the characters was really well done. (since there is absolutely no dialogue in it) (also helped the main actor was super cute...though then i looked him up last night and discovered he's only 15 ._.; ...meh. whatever.)
and finally to top off the night, downtown's matsumoto has come out with a new film, r100.
and unlike for symbol, this time was the world premiere so he came!!
with a document film crew even (so um...might have to get my hands on footage of that to see if i'm there ^^;) ...i even got to help the film crew get set up a very little bit by explaining a couple things in japanese~ :D
and the movie was pretty hilarious XDDD and matsumoto enjoyed how much louder/more often a western audience laughs/reacts than the japanese audiences probably will XD
but yes, omg. actually seeing someone like that in person. never thought that'd happen! and some of the main cast came too~ i didn't realise the actor who played ichi from ichi the killer was the main actor ^^ and a bunch of the female actresses i recognised too since they were all people who've been in various dramas.
but because the crowd was so huge/intense (read: the entire japanese community of t.o. seemed to be there) they didn't hang out at the end like the artists often do after the midnight movie so i didn't have a chance to actually meet him. but still, pretty awesome!
oh, and we all sang him happy birthday XD
