things i like about korea:
street vendors-we had some totally delicious random food last night ^^ tempura'd squid, some kind of veggie steam buns (except colin ate more of the non-spicy cause he's a baka >.<) and ye ol' meat on a stick :D
everyone is so pretty. seriously, i've been turning my head way more than i was in tokyo. especially at the boys ;) any korean person who wants to get some sort of aesthetic surgery or whatever should just not bother, you are already more than gorgeous
also the love of coffee shops/pastry shops. there's seriously about 2 for every block!
things that aren't so good: i really should've gotten a universal adapter anyway even though we're here such a short time...it's annoying not being able to plug in my laptop (at least our room has an (albeit quite slow) pc)
what else we've been up to the last few days:
-met up with
flailinginlove to hang out for a bit/get my hasshi ticket & borrow her spare phone). went to okonomiyaki for the first time in yeeaaaars and got to it make-it-yourself style. IT WAS NOM :D then we couldn't really decide what to do @ 9pm-ish so went and found a cheap k. place in yoyogi
-got to fukuoka friday, our hotel's front desk person only spoke a bit of english, but he was really cute (and cute about that issue) so it was ok-we got our room just fine so whatevs. had dinner at a street stall, and the other ppl at the stall were totally friendly-we were sitting right beside an older couple from kobe and i was talking with the wife a bit before they left~
also bought some super delicious melonpan from another stall~
getting up early enough to catch the ferry was a challenge, but we made it just in time, and had an easy time catching a train to dongdaegu where we managed to meet w/ colin's gamer friend just fine
....who then took us out to go bar hopping (what i expected), but one little drink stand was tended to by a really sweet girl who i ended up hanging out with for a while at the end of the night while the boys went off to drink some more
...he also took us to a noraebang in the same area, which was actually an sm-run box! so they had posters all over of some of their groups, and then i got really old tvxq mvs as background to some of the songs~! (although that was about the only kpop i got that night cause everywhere else we went played american music)
so of course this meant a late start the next day-had to push to get us to the station at a reasonable time...and then when we got there we found out all the trains to seoul were totally booked except for 'standing room' which really is standing at the entrance to the car...luckily it's only an 1.5hr trip!
but we got to seoul and our hotel is a nice sized room with a big bed (although the bed's rather hard unfortunately :S ) it's also totally a love hotel, so that's kinda hilarious in itself XD
and we are right close to 3 of the 5 'great palaces' in seoul, as well as a couple other nice touristy spots-so yesterday we went to the folk museum (free entrance), which just to my luck, had a special exhibit on hat and footwear! :) and today we're thinking of looking at the other ones until we decide it's time to head to a starcraft tourney (which colin was thoroughly enjoying getting to watch on tv last night-until i made him get up and work on our blog post while i switched to something else...i eventually landed on some singing competition, but first found some variety/game show that some idols i recognised were on-my only guess is suju members, but i know they were just in vietnam on the weekend so could've been someone else)
