first non-kattun con-jyannis dvd i've bought yay!
and so worth it!
i basically had to nearly bite my lip to stop from grinning while holding the package while waiting for/in the elevator XDDD;;;; i seriously thought i might not get it till after i'd left!
highlights of the kantou version: holyshitsomethingondvdthat'sonlyebikisu+snowman!, sengaxgocchi dance battle like wut!, taipixhasshi fight/duet scene, hasshi & every time he sang asdfkj i get to hear that voice live in 24 days! (i honestly missed the very beginning cause i was too busy squeeing), evil sanapi, getting to see snow man as larger acting roles in general, the shower scene omg! THIS. EPIC, how they made the levels/rooftops everyone was jumping between during the chase at the end
issues: totsu's costume faux pas xamillion. even though i already knew about it, it kinda ruined that moment for me cause my costumer's eyes were rolling. also on a costume note, lack of breakdown.
highlights of the kansai version: zomg kanjyuu!!!!on dvd!!!! zomg!!!!, creative staging (though it did help they had that hanamich and revolve+moving stage bits available to play with, so it's not a point lost for the kantou show, i'm referring more to things like that vocal ensemble bit, plus some interesting uses of the lighting which had me wondering if there were different lighting designers for each show-checking the booklet, the kansai designer was an assistant for the kantou, so in a way, yes.), better death scene-of course there's the way how they worked around any costume faux-pas issues, but also the stylising worked well for a theatre setting-it was a lot more simple and poignant than the kantou version (although hasshi crying did get to me ._.), costume breakdown (omg! they actually looked like they were in some crap place where they aren't treated well!) although interesting to note both shows had the same costumers, the show time because now i actually have a kanjyuu con on dvd! (highlights = 7 west askjfd, bbv's collab being way more intense than that version on sc, audience interaction, watanabe reiya doing koki-rap perfectly)
so as much as hasshi owns my soul, i think from a theatrical pov, the kanjyuu show was better done (also like...total party at the end, good choice to watch it second)
...in other news, i bought shoes for my trip! there were 2 pairs i was looking at, and i went with the black ones even though the red ones seemed like they had slightly better arch support/etc because i really need some practical black shoes that look somewhat dressy but are actually comfortable ...although if they'd had some kinda sale so i could afford both i would've gotten the red too, cause they were a really cute casual style (btw, both were ecco since i didn't consider any other store because my ecco sandals are zomgamazinglycomfortable and i knew any shoes i'd buy from there would likely be good for walking alot on my trip~
...also looked at luggage, but geh, expensive ;_; i didn't realise how much a carry-on roller suitcase would cost :S so i have to look around more...
