almost typed in update.fml. appropriately freudian
so i'm now using colin's laptop to transfer 500gb over to my 1.5tb drive, because early this afternoon i left my computer for 5 minutes to take out the garbage, and it was like "oh hay, i'm gonna start dying real good now" ...and lasted only about as long as i needed to (thankfully) save+close all my open programs.
unfortunately, it has taken half a day to discover my computer hates me (which i already knew), norton ghost, and my new hdd (or possibly my oldest one. dunno really). because colin has since helped me ghost my c:\, find out my computer thinks my new c:\ partition doesn't exist, but i can install xp on it, but my computer can't boot from there, and lo! windows 7? doesn't even know my new hdd exists AT ALL. (even though colin has the same drives in his computer)
and all this may or may not be an issue with me having previously installed windows on my 320 (old/currently can at least load into windows but crashes when i try actually doing anything) and my 120 (ide, very old)
so for now, we're hoping by wiping my 500 and using it as a fresh spot to ghost my 320, it might actually maybe let me load windows off a drive other than that one. maybe.
sync toy has been running for an hour now, with umm... 0% finished. checking files. copying isn't even on the menu yet.
