...the hills are alive, with too many does ;)

back from SoM :)

aside from a couple acting bits, i really enjoyed it. the set was fantabulous (moving stage wutwut!) and i think i love the lighting designer now. seriously. so good.

the acting bits where things my friend who works at the princess had already mentioned, so i may have not noticed so much if i didn't have the preconceptions already...basically von trap's tonal variance when speaking was somewhat lacking (improved in the second act though)...and then just a couple tiny moments where i'd think "oh that was a bit much" or something. also time went too fast in a couple spots, so it took a moment to accept a certain character's reaction to the situations

but. the musical had several songs not in the movie. and did i mention the lighting? ;)
i've always thought though that they sing do-re-mi too much in that musical...and i'm pretty sure they sang it even more than in the movie XD but all the cast were excellent singers, so that made it more ok ;)

and the child actors were all quite good, though the whole time i kept thinking Liesl looked like one of the 4th yr actors (sochi, for you kids who know her... ) (they're both good actors though, so it's not a bad thing lol ;) )

...after that and walking home in the cold, i so don't want to go to bed yet though (have 9am class tomorrow morning :S...)

(btw- i was on the house left side (3rd seat in) in row J, so right nearly halfway down in the orchestra :) only problem was a tall guy w/ a big head sat in front of me, but at least the seats are slightly staggered)

irl wut?, behold! the theatre tech geeks again
