Things I would like my children to know, if they should ever exist
*Not everything that seems like it is going to be a good idea is actually going to be a good idea.
*Not everything that seems like it is going to be a bad idea is actually going to be a bad idea.
*You can be anything and do anything
*You don't have to be anything for anyone, except my son or daughter... but you do have to be that, cause i'm you're mother, that's why.
*You don't ever have to be afraid to call home
*You should ask as many questions as you have
*I want you to pretend to be fairies and baseball players and monster fighters and teachers and puppies for as long as you possibly can. I want you to have tea parties as often as you think it is a good idea. I want you to sing as loud as you want to, and find as many shapes as possible in every cloud you see. I want you to make up the silliest stories that you can come up with, no matter how little sense they might make you me. I want you to name your stuffed animals strange things and ignore the names that might be on their tags. You want a stuffed kitten named French Fries? Sounds great. You want a toy puppy named Horse? Perfect. Imagine as much as you can.
*Playing with mommy's perfume and lotion to make your own only sounds like a good idea. Trust me, i've tried it. It turns out pretty yucky at the end.
*Ask for help.
*Tell the truth.
*Try the food, because it's probably yummy.
*I want you to listen to sounds and see colors and look for wonderful things everywhere, because you'll remember them, and it is very important to remember wonderful things. Especially on bad days.
*You'll have bad days, and it's okay to cry about them, and sometimes you'll be mad, and that's okay. Tomorrow will be different.
*Accidents happen
*You're never too old to snuggle, hold a hand, or kiss goodnight, even though you won't always believe that.
*Television really is garbage, even though you'll probably sit through a lot of it.
*As my children, you will most certainly be adorable, beautiful creatures, and you need never worry about anyone telling you otherwise... and you need never think otherwise yourself.
*Stand up for yourself, and stand up for others. What is right is not always easy, but that doesn't make it less right.
*If you have a problem, holding it inside will not fix it, but it will probably make it bigger, so don't be afraid to let it out.
*Remember that words mean a lot, so use them carefully.
*I do not know what your names will be yet, but no matter what, "Welcome" is not in the running, and "Mat" is also unlikely, so don't ever think that you have to let people walk all over you.
