Hayalet 1

I've been meaning to post the Dramatis Personae, but I end up changing everything.  So consider this Hayalet 1.0

Hayalet Tara Revington

Born November, 2952 on the world of Tyggus VII, Hayalet was delivered by the alien Xii’drid amidst the world’s apocalypse. The fifth fleet of the Gaia Dominari incinerated the small moon from orbit. The reawakened Founder ensured the survival of the infant and her family.

Hayalet grew up as a sheltered prodigy parented by two scientists. The isolated backwater colony of Dyre provided a comfortable home. As a child, she spent most of her time with the exiled tribes of the Cylian species and exploring the deep wilderness that choked the landscape around the buried colony.

In 2961, the fifth fleet of the Gaia Dominari deployed an expeditionary force to Dyre. Hayalet was only nine years old when her parents were murdered by soldiers. Taken captive after the incident, Cornelius Rockford hoped to use the child to recover the life’s research of her parents. The flagship was ripped from its fleet and flung across space to the foreboding world of Tirus.

Hayalet survived on the harsh alien world; forever defined by the events that transpired upon its surface. Most notable event was the meeting of the last of the Founders, Xii’drid. Unknown to the ancient alien, Hayalet’s left forearm was devoured by Xii’drid’s lost Void Blade. Under the tutelage of the Founder, Hayalet executes Cornelius Rockford; granting justice for the murder of her parents along with many others and granting absolution to a man deemed unredeemable by the aged alien.

After much effort and the help of Mourn and Jackson, Hayalet and the two other survivors are rescued by a small mercenary shuttle. The shuttle’s owner, Kodiak, adopts the orphaned child; within eighteen months she joins the man’s organization permanently. The Crimson Angels offered sanctuary and a community that mirrored her own philosophy and beliefs. Her stay was brief, however; having traded herself to set an eight year-old girl free; Hayalet was only twelve when she condemned herself to slavery. Nora Solace would spend the next decade looking for Hayalet.

Late 2970, Kodiak and Solace eventually locate Hayalet and launch a daring attack on the pirate mining rig. Hayalet is reunited with her adoptive father and her only friend. Hayalet and Solace pledged their love upon reunion. Hayalet resembled an amazon as an adult; a physical appearance forged in the hardship of endless labor. She quickly reintegrated herself into the Crimson Angels; quickly becoming a feared bounty hunter and privateer.

Rampancy, a condition that afflicts the exceptionally intellectually gifted, started to take hold of Hayalet. A condition that was quickly exploited by the psychic terror known as the Hungering Maw; during a waking-nightmare, Hayalet murdered her lover, Solace, mistaking her for a hallucination. The experience left Hayalet empty.

August 10th, 2973, Hayalet is killed by Coalition bounty hunters in response to her depression-driven madness; blaming piracy and the corruption of law for the death of Nora Solace. Her last words were “Nora, here I come…” Kodiak and the rest of Aegis spend six years tracking Hayalet’s corpse, hoping to give their former leader a proper burial. The endeavor saw the deaths to every member of Aegis.

Atailan

Hayalet was reborn through the Xeridian Architecture. Kodiak died tearing his daughter’s assimilated body from stasis. Realizing everything she ever had as a human was destroyed or dead, she adopted the name Atailan. She directed a life-time’s worth of dormant hatred unto the Vydrk; with it came the first angry commands of her infant nexus. The Second Generation of Xeridian was born from her template and she began to treat the slave-conscripts as kin; intent on liberating her sisters. The progenitor of her assimilation, the Void Blade bonded to her arm, attracted the attention of its former bearer, Xii’drid.
