Things are moving right along
So my friend Chris came back to the Jonesboro area this weekend to see his brother before he moves off to New Mexico and to see his family since he's been gone for a little over a week. He stopped by yesterday and we found this really cool website that showed us a bunch of nice apartments in Little Rock. We found 10 that seemed decent enough for us to check them out but I told Chris to narrow the list down to about 4, which is a number that we can actually look at in a day. I plan to shoot up there next Saturday just for that purpose and hopefully after that we'll definitely have a place picked out and can start the application process and whatnot. We're hoping to be able to move into the place the weekend after that so that I can start job searching in the area as soon as possible.
In other news, I informed my job of my last available day to work yesterday. The manager didn't seem very happy about it but I honestly don't give a shit. I've given plenty of myself to that job and I've gotten nothing out of it but a weary mind and a tired body. So I'll probably be working there maybe another two full weeks unless they find a replacement for me very quickly and then it could be less. Regardless I really only need to work there 1 more week to have enough money to get a new place but I said that I'd be available to work up until the 21st since I figured that I'd be nice and give them plenty of time to find some new people. Hell, I even offered to train them before I departed so I really don't know why the manager was getting all touchy with me. The store is probably going to fall to shit after I leave unless she can actually find some decent new workers (which is pretty hard to do in the Jonesboro area, apparently). People's work ethics around here leave quite a bit to be desired, which is probably why they're always bringing in people from Iowa.
