I would've posted about this earlier but I had my last final today so I've been pretty pre-occupied. Anyway, we had a show this past weekend at the Dark Embrace Dungeon and it was our first time playing there. A lot of dedicated metal heads come out to see this show AND there's alcohol present so it's usually a pretty good crowd. Unfortunately, we had to go first and not a whole lot of people were there yet so I don't know how well we went over. I did get quite a few comments about our new singer and the last song that we did and one of the guys from another band told me that no matter what we need to keep him and I definitely agree. Anyway, the rest of the show was pretty badass and the other bands really put it down. Unfortunately, I didn't get to stay long enough to see the last two bands because it started raining and I didn't want to get caught in the storm.
Moving along, the next day at practice we put a new song on the table for our current singer to learn and he picked it up so fast it was almost scary. He just has an energy about him that our injured singer never really had. It might also stem from the fact that he's a pretty fun guy to hang out with as well. I really do hope that we can keep him in the band because practices have been really fun with him around. When our other singer recovers, I don't know what kind of problems that will present but hopefully he will be reasonable and we can show him that two people can do it better than one. In other news, we may have a show coming up May 20th at the New Daisy and it will probably be our biggest show to date. We're supposed to contact the booking person back after this weekend and get the details but we're all looking forward to it.
