About that single named R.Y.U.S.E.I.
Okay I think I need to write this down or I will eventually forget about it someday (btw I’m writing this when waiting for my soup for lunch to finish so please ignore my randomness).
I FRICKING LOVE RYUSEI (omitting 6 dots because I’m lazy).
I remembered the first day I heard its 15s preview. I hated it so much despite the fact that Haruma Miura was god damn handsome (-_-メ)!!! And their “trip to LA “ photos, plus all those girls with big boobs who looked 2000% bigger in size compared to Ryuji made me so mad. I-don’t-ship-Western-girls-with-big-boobs-and-ass-with-Japanese-guys because you know… their size difference makes me laugh every time hahaha ╮(╯▽╰)╭. Okay back to the topic. So I initially hated RYUSEI-dots-omitted, and decided (on Twitter) that I wasn’t going to buy it, no matter how blonde Ryuji was. However, the 3 minutes preview came out later, and I knew my money would be gone (again).
I WAS SO (x1000 times) IN LOVE WITH IT JUST BY THE AUDIO ONLY!
Its first 30 seconds re-confirmed everything I had assumed of RYUSEI: dance-floor-music, autotune, dubstep (this was a bit overboard sorry, but I really did think so), another sorry-but-what-is-rhythm-again like SAKURA-also-dots-omitted. And their “wooohoooo” “Let’s the sky shine” thingies were annoying. I was hoping for a ballads after SAKURA so this was a big disappointment!
BUT THEN RYUJI STARTED THE SONG WITH HIS HEAVENLY VOICE.
AND THERE WAS PIANO PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND.
AND SLOW TEMPO VERSE WHICH SHOWED OFF THEIR SINGING ABILITY *dies*.
I didn’t make head nor tail of the song yet but I knew I would love it. Their voice wasn’t autotuned as much as I had thought (actually, they almost didn’t use autotune, right?). And it did have rhythm omg I was so happy. I could hear both OmiRyu’s voices so clearly, and their high notes were perfect. OMI VOICE KILLED EVERYTHING. How can he sings that part so effortlessly??? However, I wasn’t so fond of the chorus at that time, ‘cuz it still sounded so “dance floor”, but I love the “ryusei~ ryusei~” part because it was just too cute!!! I was screaming so hard on Twitter that day. Although I didn’t have time to actually like the song as a whole yet, but I had the feeling that it had all the need elements I required for a fave-song. “I think I will like it” was my status XD. I even kicked Kumochan out of her bed and forced her to listen to it and she fell in love with it even faster than me! I also called D-kun and made her listen to it through the phone (LOL me). Later that day Susu joined the gang and we all went crazy.
We love RYUSEI so much!
I put RYUSEI-dots-omitted on loop for 5 consecutive hours that day, and another 5 hours at night.
My life got harder after watching the PV. I was kinda surprised when most people I know (or I read) seemed to hate blonde Ryuji. Hahaha why? Because it made him less ballad-romance-Japanese-soul and more Western? I love blonde Ryuji. He looks fresh and younger with that hairstyle in the club. Can he keep that hair for at least the next 4 singles hahahaha (people will hate me for making such wish). AND HE LOOKS GOD DAMN HOT WITH THAT HAIR KYAAAAAAA HOW CAN HE LOOKS GOOD IN EVERY HAIR COLOR ASDHFJKL.

RYUSEI-I-hate-dots PV is so predictable. They said it’s filmed in LA and I could already know 80% of the PV (20% is the boys’ excessive hotness I didn’t allow for). I was laughing so hard, seeing Ryuji almost kiss one girl, NAOKI have one on his lap, NAOTO hug that gorgeous blondie and ELLY dance with that girl of superlative beauty, when Omi sits with Gunchan and Kenchan is even worse: riding a bike by himself. LOLLLLLLLLL FOREVER ALONE KEN-CHAN!!! I feel like there’s something wrong with OmiGun scene… because it’s usually a guy behind the wheel, and a girl kinda will dance next to him on that car??? But OmiGun are both guys lmao??? And Omi keeps mistaking Gunchan for a girl as he keeps touching him when Gunchan is riding. Seriously I WAS LAUGHING SO HARD AT SUCH SCENE! Someone please give Omi a girl. He seems desperate hahahaha (≧∇≦)~
One thing I love about the PV is its fresh and fun atmosphere. Most of the time, 3JSB appears on PVs with serious, cool, stoic face! I admit that it’s cool and attractive and all, but what made me become their fans in the first place was their smiley faces in ZERO tour. Maybe that’s why I love RYUSEI so much: finally a smiley-3JSB-PV yayyy ヽ(；▽；)ノ~ They are all jumping, fooling around, making stupid faces, smiling and having a lot of fun. Can’t stop dancing when listening to this song. And I love the part where OmiRyu dances with the gang! Uwa so cute! This may be the PV in which OmiRyu dance the most, right? Ryuji bb is dancing I’M SO PROUD! Not to mention, the performers’ solo dance and group dance are all awesome. I miss their dance part so badly (blame SAKURA), hence RYUSEI is like rain in the drought.

I like the fact that 3JSB don’t limited themselves within one constant genre of music, but try new things and succeed most of the time (I still don’t like SAKURA-I’m-sick-of-dots, sorry). The PVs of Hanabi and Powder Snow almost have the same settings and styles; even the music genres are unchanged, while Best Friend’s Girl, On your mark and Refrain have almost nothing difference (but I love all of them). PVs of LOVE SONG is a huge “blah” I don’t even care about it. If they kept on sticking to one oh-so-sad-heart-breaking-ballad style, I wouldn’t have become their fan. I, Kumochan and D-kun all love Hanabi and Fuyu. Yet Kumochan actually fell for Go My Way the 1st time she met 3JSB (mostly bc of Omi’s cute smiley face), when Dkun fell so hard for SAKURA that she finally became a fan, and I got attacked by Ryuji’s smile, which was shown in no PV until RYUSEI arrived. Most of 3JSB long-time fans I know don't like RYUSEI, music-wise and PV-wise. I don’t know how they feel about 3JSB gradual change, but I personally like it very much. It opens chance for new fans to get into them (and give them all of their money =”=). RYUSEI is a like-no-other song with a fun and summer-ish PV. Sticking to one main style is good, but having variety is also important. I think RYUSEI does a good job, and 99% I will buy it (just wait for the cover... *sweats*).
I know RYUSEI is not officially released yet, but I can’t wait for DOOR (thanks God, no dots this time). I may write an entry for it later because I’m so pumped ♡ฅ(*°▽°*)ฅ♡. I have my own expectation for the music and PV already! Please LDH please make my dream come true.
For now, let’s put R.Y.U.S.E.I on loop again for the 100th something time XD. This summer is gonna be AWESOME!
