“Arigatou! Arigatou! Arigatou!” four voices yelled excitedly, waving, jumping and laughing almost childishly as they entertained their viewers as much as possible to the end. Glittering pieces of silver rained down on the stage as the final music clip faded out, taking the lighting with it. Four panting bodies remained standing still for a few more seconds, relishing the surge of energy flowing through their tired bodies. But it was soon time to really end it, and before they knew it, they already stepped through the lit corridor leading to their dressing rooms. With tired but satisfied smiles on their faces they entered, returning every bow by the staff.
“Otsukaresama deshita!” They yelled, though their voices no longer hid their exhaustion. They clapped their hands for a little while until everyone had calmed down, and with united sighs of relief they collapsed in their own chairs. It remained surprisingly quiet for a little while as the four colorfully dressed men tried to catch their breaths, taking large gulps of water in between. But before long they had regained enough energy to chat again.
“Oh! Oh! Wasshi! That back flip went really good, ne?” Daiki happily chirped as he started to bounce in his chair. The strong willed Leader always took the longest to calm down after such a successful stunt. So, the other man just bowed his head and smiled in agreement. Tuti was about to make a witty comment, but someone entering the dressing room soon caught his complete attention.
“Well hello there, my lovely little pimp,” the enterer said with a devious smile on his face. Despite the remark and the following attempt at feigned hurt, Tuti couldn’t help but smile widely as well, recognizing the voice out of thousands.
“Oi, you didn’t come here just to make fun of my costume, are you, Takashi?”
The addressed man simply smiled innocently as he took an empty chair and sat down, crossing his legs and intertwining his fingers, eyeing his lover with obvious amusement.
“Of course I did.”
Tuti pouted defiantly as he turned away from the face he couldn’t stand living without. Taking a deep breath, he eventually picked up some of his make up stuff, wanting to take it off before taking a blissful shower, and afterwards head home as soon as possible, most likely in the company of a certain smiling bastard.
Only two chairs away from them sat Daiki and Eiji, who were entangled in a childish discussion on who performed better, the odd thing being the constant praising of the other.
“No no, you really did better! I mean, the way you acted so ridiculously confident, it was sooo funny. And the hand thingy, even though there wasn’t any meaning behind it, it was great!”
“No no, you did way better! The way you acted cute and all, you were a really convincing host. Besides, your ‘doki doki’ was the cutest of all!”
“Ah! That was!! No, that was so horrible! It was like… I couldn’t! I couldn’t even stop laughing! It was soooo stupid!”
…
“Yeah, you’re kinda right about that,” Eiji finally admitted, causing Daiki’s eyes to grow wide in feigned hurt.
“No way! You’re supposed to say that THAT was the cutest part! Mou, you’re so cruel!” Daiki pouted as he faced away with so much force, it turned his chair around. Eiji laughed nervously as he realized Daiki was in one of ‘those’ moods again. He shifted his gaze from Daiki’s back towards Tuti, who was to immersed in his conversation with Takashi that he didn’t notice anything, to Wasshi who only returned his look with a ‘you got yourself in this, so get out yourself’ smile.
Eiji sighed deeply again, before he placed his hands on Daiki’s shoulders, hoping to relax his Leader a little.
“Aw, c’mon, Daiki-chan, don’t be upset. Just get yourself a warm shower, and then we’re heading home, okay?” He smiled his widest smile, even though Daiki couldn’t see him and silently prayed it would work. It remained quiet for a little while, save for the silent conversation Tuti and Nagayan were having, before Daiki suddenly shot up from his chair.
He quickly picked up some of his stuff and sniffed arrogantly.
“Ha, I’ll do just that!” He announced before walking away.
Though only ten seconds later did he re-enter the room with a dead-serious look on his face. He silently walked up to Eiji, stared at him with a deep frown before slapping him on the forehead. Leaving a surprised Eiji behind, he turned on his heels and walked towards the showers fast, not once saying a single word.
Eiji sat perplexed in his chair, before a huge grin appeared on his face.
“Was that an invitation?”
Lifting himself out of his chair, he picked up some of his stuff and left the room with a mischievous chuckle. Wasshi only sighed and shook his head.
“Guess it’ll be showering at home tonight… Like always…” He muttered quietly to himself.
Meanwhile, Tuti grinned as he talked about the little mistakes that were made during the show, though no one else noticed. Takashi listened with an equally happy grin on his face. Both were completely oblivious to the drama that had unfolded only a few feet away.
“Anyway, overall I think it went pretty well, right?” Tuti finally asked, seeking confirmation from his dearest friend. The other chuckled deviously.
“Well, I guess it wasn’t that bad… It had you as a host in it, after all.”
They both shared a meaningful glare which, to outsiders seeming to be a simple laugh, sparked their energy.
“Well, Tuti, go get your ass showered and then we can head home!” Takashi finally chirped as he decided he’d been out long enough for that day. He longed for his own bed, and his personal fluffy caretaker, of course the latter being Tuti.
“Yeah! I’ll only take a few minutes, okay?” Tuti nodded as he picked up some of his belongings.
“A-Ah, you might want to reconsider that…” Wasshi interrupted. Tuti looked at him with a questioning frown, before he sighed deeply and rubbed his forehead.
“Oh man, again? They take months, years, to figure out what they want and now they have it and they can’t stop…” Tuti sighed once again but Nagayan suddenly stood behind him and whispered in his ear:
“You’re saying you were any different? Oh well, guess you’ll just have to shower at home.” Tuti couldn’t see the other’s face, but he’d bet his life on the fact that his lover was loving every second of this and wasn’t going to hide it in his expressions.
“Oh, shut up…On second thought, I don’t think that’s such a bad idea…” He turned around, suddenly standing only 2 inches apart from Takashi’s face and they stood still for a little while, looking in each other’s eyes while grinning softly. But a low, failed to be kept hidden, groan from Wasshi broke them apart. Both Tuti and Nagayan looked at him with a slightly guilty look on their faces, though they couldn’t contain their smiles any longer.
Nagayan was the first to look serious again.
“Washio-san, do you have someone to go home with?” He asked with genuine curiosity. After all, he’d been attending pnish’s rehearsals for so long, he’d grown quite close with the other members.
Wasshi shook his head and conjured a convincing smile on his face.
“Nah, but don’t worry. I don’t really need anyone in particular right now.”
Nagayan wasn’t completely convinced, but decided to leave it at that for now.
“Hm, you’ve got no idea what you’re missing though,” Tuti said with a meaningful grin on his face.
“And I bet Daiki-chan and Eiji can confirm that for you,” Nagayan added with a finished smile.
Almost on cue, they heard laughs coming from the other room and the three of them quickly shook their heads, though they couldn’t help but be amused.
“Okay, I gotta get outta here. Now. C’mon, Takashi,” Tuti said as he quickly dumped all of his stuff in a large bag before zipping it closed. Takashi nodded excitedly before bowing politely to Wasshi and then finally made his way out of the dressing room. Tuti followed him quickly, though he turned around at the last moment, his face suddenly very serious.
“Wasshi…Ganbatte, ne” he said, his eyes showing genuine concern for one of his most special friends. Wasshi smiled with a thankful look on his face before bowing slightly.
“Yeah.”
And with that, Tuti exited the room, closing the door gently behind him. Wasshi sighed deeply as he turned his chair again, facing himself in the large mirror. More laughs from the other room caused him to groan lowly again, burying his face in his hands.
“Have…got…to get… outta here…now…” He mumbled quietly, though the corners of his mouth were definitely curled upwards.
