A brief poetic interlude
My life (such as it is) has sucked of late,
With homework, music work all through the night;
I try to finish things at a good rate,
And yet my schedule's been a little tight.
Most recently two of my friends came here,
(one from high school, one I've never met)
But thanks to schedules at the end of the year,
I stayed at home to practice, work, and fret.
I've only two more days and then I'm done
With juries, midterms, finishing at two
On Tuesday, then I can have a little fun
(But just a little; I've recitals and finals, too)
I'll free my schedule next time you're around,
So hit me up the next time you're in town?
(I cheated on the iams quite a lot --
I really didn't give this that much thought.)

So, uh, didn't see either person I knew who was visiting Chicago, didn't have nearly as much time to study as I wanted, didn't hardly practice at all -- man, I sure hope the audience appreciated that goddamn opera.
