Oh my God I'm (almost except for EA) done with first quarter classes. Victory~!
Anyways. It's getting incredibly cold here in the Midwest -- there was snow and ice and horribleness yesterday evening, but then it rained and now we're left with the Saddest Snow Ever (little grey patches blobbed up on the side of the road here and there). I don't know if it's kind of cool or really sad that Seattle apparently got nicer snow at the same time as Evanston.
In other news, I think I'm going to start knitting more hats. Once I finish this monstrosity (it's double-knit, so I have to knit twice as much as I normally would, and if it doesn't fit I may have to kill something) I'm making another Ugly Cabled Hat, only with thicker wool and more hardc0re stitch-counting action.
I have this all planned out -- when I get back to Seattle I'm getting a giant long parka-thing that will keep me nice and warm on my ten-minute trek to Tech every morning for my 8:00 EA class. Under this parka I will wear skirts and tank tops and cute things, and carry a pair of flipflops with me, because I pretty much never leave Tech ever (and never see the sun ever either), so I need something to make me feel better about never going outside.
(Oh, and on Wednesdays I don't get to leave until after 6. Remind me, why am I not an English major?)
Hopefully this quarter some of my classrooms will feature windows to the outside world. I miss being able to approximate the time from the levels of natural light.
...I miss natural light.
I kind of wish my roommate would start also taking out the trash and recycling. I actually moved the garbage behind her chair in a passive-aggressively pointed manner, but she didn't get the hint. I don't really want to ask outright, but... grrr.
How thrilling is it that I'm out of class by eleven on Tuesdays and Thursdays? (This may not really be the case, but I'm pretending it is for the time being.)
I'm going home in two weeks!!! Lucie, Zoe, we go skiing, yesyes?
