Real life threw me another curve ball, so here I am to catch up

13 - Do you prefer canon or fanon when you write? Has writing fanfic for a fandom changed the way you see some or even all of the original source material?

It honestly depends on how it's written. If fanon has been written with good grammar, strong voice, and intelligent thought I'll enjoy it. On the other hand, I love to see good canon in a story. After all, I'm there to see more of what I loved of the original fandom, so changing it isn't necessarily the way to go. I like to write canon while stealing pieces from fanon (e.g. as sharelle said a few days ago, the kids' last names from D&DC). Why change what everyone else agrees on, except to throw them a curve ball? And I'm really not liking curve balls, right now.

14 - Ratings - how high are you comfortable with going? Have you ever written higher? If you're comfortable with NC-17, have you ever been shocked by finding that the story you're writing is G-rated instead?

I don't write above PG-13. I'm just not good at writing pr0n. Tried, failed, moving on. I love finding that I can write something G rated, simply because that's a challenge (finding the right language, description, erasing insinuations, that sort of thing).

15 - Warnings - What do you feel it most important to warn for, and what's the strangest thing you've warned for in a fic?

I think it's important to warn against language and smut. That way, if you don't want to read it or aren't comfortable with it, you can move on. I don't think I've warned against anything odd, except maybe ghosts when it comes to Bible stories.

I'll try to be back on again tomorrow, but the next two days have odd work schedules. I'll definitely catch up on Sunday, if I must. And no worries about the RL stuff. It'll get solved, eventually.
