I am re-reading Pride and Prejudice right now! In between bouts of sobbing! P&P is just kind of a constant in my life, but since starting The Lizzie Bennet Diaries my love has been re-ignited full-force blam-o. LOL DARCY. LOL DARCY ALWAYS. I have a lot of Darcy feelings, because I get so annoyed when the general discourse is centred around the Mr. Darcy: Perfect Human Dreamboat and NO! The point of Mr. Darcy is that he's not a dreamboat! He's a study in introversion and how social awkwardness can make you a jerkass god, you don't even deserve this book!!!

NICK MILLER NICK MILLER NICK MILLER! I too have stronger feelings about Nick/Jess than Schmidt/Cece (though... his terribly earnest face in the most recent episode did things... to me). Nick/Jess is just this perfectly calibrated thing where they are probably going to bang and then they are going to fuck it up and then maturation will happen and it will be beautiful always. There has been such an emphasis this season on how they, but Nick especially, ruins things and I can't wait for all of this to unfold.

I have not! Well, I've seen a few clips on YouTube because there are some nice people who have done supercuts of the Kat/Patrick scenes.

WOW HOW HAVE WE NEVER SPOKEN BEFORE, OUR PRIORITIES ARE PRETTY MUCH POINT FOR POINT.

UGH PRIDE AND PREJUDICE: A STORY OF EVERYONE BEING STUPID: A MEMOIR. lol darcy should be how everyone reads it because SOCIAL AWKWARDNESS, INTROVERSION, HERE I CAN'T TELL YOU THESE THINGS HAVE A NOTE. SASSING CAROLINE BINGLEY. And like it wouldn't be the same if Darcy wasn't socially awkward. Like whenever Lizzie tries to shut him down and he's secretly enjoying it and falling in love with her. His confession of love! Just everything.

Lol yeah, Schmidt's face in tonight's episode when he realized that he ruined everything was just ... ugh so heartbreaking. But NICK MILLER, MAN. This season has been pretty good with Nick/Jess stuff for me, and I'm so excited for Nick to destroy everything and figure out what he's supposed to be apologizing for and stupid faces and stupid people unprepared for feelings until they punch them in the face and he'll break her heart and run away and when he comes back older and wiser, she'll be more cautious and it'll be SO GREAT.

I'm not sure if you've ever seen Greek - I haven't - but the guy who wrote 10 Things wrote a few episodes of Greek (Carter Covington is his name) and he basically took the movie and just made it into a super great TV show? Which everyone always scoffs at but he added so much depth to what was already there and got me to honestly ship Joey/Bianca, and just !! If you ever have free time, you should check it out.

IT'S A TRAVESTY, REALLY, THAT'S THANKFULLY BEEN REMEDIED.

Pride and Prejudice really was formative for a lot of my favourite tropes - belligerent sexual tension, EMOTIONAL IDIOTS, transformative love, etc. Lizzie and Darcy really do grow together and it's beautiful and I need to talk to some food about this.

SASSING CAROLINE BINGLEY

Oh man, I never even thought about the fact that LBD hasn't given us any of Darcy sassing Caroline. I mean, technically we got it second hand costume theatre style, but dear sweet lord what I wouldn't give for the equivalent of "it's been many months since I've considered her the handsomest woman of my acquaintance" or whatever.

I can't wait until Fandom March Madness, when I will spam the shit of those comments with Nick Miller's face (though I'd be happy to have Jess as the nom too). BUT NICK MILLER!!!

Well I LOVE LOVE LOVE the movie so I should probably check it out sometime!

I just love how much the changes in both of them are so subtle? Like they start out as these solidly established people and you think you know them and what they like and they slowly change and you can see it but neither of them can't and you're just like UGH YOU'RE PERFECT GO MAKE OUT BEHIND A HEDGEROW OR SOMETHING and meanwhile there's like ~miscommunications because neither of them know how to say anything outright.

EMOTIONAL IDIOTS AND TRANSFORMATIVE LOVE could probably me the thousandth subtitle for my memoir or something.

Hahaha, ugh, Nick Miller, light of my life, general wreck of a human being. I can't get over how much I love him? This fall TV season has just been really good to me in giving me self-aware self-loathing asshole dudes everywhere who are in love with ladies they think are too good for them in some way, shape, or form (or, at least, this is how my reading of them goes) and everything's moving so well and I've never been this satisfied with so many tv narratives at once before, and I don't quite know how to function without my alternating despair and rage. What do I do??????
