Another thought -- Season 4 is far and away my favorite season, with lots of great episodes and hardly a dud among them. Angel Maker, Minimal Loss, Memoriam, 52 Pickup...they're all good!
That was 2008/2009 and since we're now in season 7, it's pretty much half the show's lifetime ago. I watch out of habit and in hope for something good. Tonight will be the season's 21st episode and I may have liked 3. I'm glad I DVD'd earlier seasons. Other favorite seasons or episodes?
Or should I stick with Grimm, White Collar and the first two seasons of Torchwood?
Well, I love pretty much season 3 through 5. Well. Okay, mostly the first half of season 5. I like season 1-2 also, but since I'm not a huge fan of Gideon, that does detract somewhat.
Season 6 was almost a complete loss for me, but since that's been the case for every single show that ever got that far, without exception, I've learned to assume that's just the way of things

At the time I liked Gideon and initially resented Rossi. But after getting used to Rossi (who I now adore) when I see seasons 1 and 2, Gideon just seems very arrogant and entitled.
NCIS seems stable -- nothing too high, but nothing too low.

I love season 1-4, but mostly because I watched them all in a few weeks. I started watching the show week by week at the beginning of S5, so everything after S4 felt very different to me. I find the cases in early seasons intriguing, and back then the team solved cases with more actual detective works and less lucky guesses. I really liked that about the show.
The episodes I find myself come back to a lot are Tabula Rasa (of course!), Legacy, Empty Planet, The Last Word, Demonology, Cold Comfort. I prefer standalone episodes basically.
Guesses? Like last night when they decide the unsub is the bus driver because... they just pulled that out of the air! And JJ is the best profiler on the team? Probably to answer our questions on how she went from media liaison to expert profiler on summer vacation.
