wow... I'm watching C-SPAN2 right now trying to kill time before leaving for my graduation ceremony. The discussion is about completely changing the American education system. Basically the proposed system looks rather similar to the Japanese education system in terms of longer days and standard education ending earlier at 10th grade.
I have two thoughts about this. The first is that it is about time this system was revised. The second is "oh great... we're gearing up to further devalue the college degree". I can't help but feel like I'm watching history in the making.
Well... I'd better head off to my graduation.
