This week has been fairly... stressful I suppose.
Working with the 4 year old kids in the Pre-K class is always cool but not without its little problems everyday. Add to that the wedding plans that we have yet to finish making and the fact that we're at T minus 90 days and counting until the day. Add to that my dad who seems to be constantly up my nose about something ever since this summer.
Now add to that the power outage that occured this morning at around 5:50. I happen to remember the time because the noise of everything shutting off at once woke me up (which I admit was a plus since my alarm obviously wouldn't have done the job without any power). Since my power bill is handled via automatic bill pay and therefore I didn't recall paying the bill in a couple months my first half-waking thought was "OH SH-T! THEY SHUT MY POWER OFF!!!".
So there I was trying to get ready by the meager amount of twilight that I was able to get in my apartment. This basically amounted to doing my hair and brushing my teeth blind in pitch black (given the lack of windows in a bathroom). I didn't shave or shower because that just would have been dangerous and stupid given the odds of my already clumbsy self slipping and falling or cutting myself in the dark and would basically earn me a darwin nomination.
The good news is I made it to my early class with time to spare... the bad is that I have to wait around for my evening lecture before I can go home and shave and shower so I'm sitting here feeling extra grungy and grumpy and I really want a shower.
It could be much worse though... I could be out of medication and at least it was an old fashioned power outage and not a lapse in my electric bill payments.
So... that's the tip of the iceburg on my end... how are things with everyone else out there?
Oh... and Elfling... do you need any more moola for fabric or other stuff for the costume???
Note to self: For all his irrational moments, dad did bring up a good point about the difference between wedding invitations and wedding announcements.
Plan to go over the invitation list again with this in mind and send out announcements after all the wedding stress has blown over.
