The other issue is that it stretches belief a bit that their partners are so willing to go along with it. Sure, they've had the official explanation and briefing and 'it's really me, I just look different' bit, and presumably they believe it, but even then... would anyone really be so willing to have sex with a stranger's body? Unfortunately the downside with relying on Eli to make the show likable is that if something starts to go wrong with him, the whole show goes down with him. And it's bound to happen at some point since his main purpose seems to be the voice of the audience, sort of: he asks the plot-related questions, makes jokes, likes sci-fi and has obviously been put there as the main person for the audience to relate to... which, in a way, means he's not allowed to have any significant character growth or make mistakes, because it will leave the audience going 'hey, *I* wouldn't do that!'.
Possibly I'm being a little bit pessimistic. The latest episode seemed to be introducing a new side to him, but then it was a little unclear what actually took place and therefore very difficult to guess what his motivations were. (Sorry, that's incredibly vague, but I'm trying to keep this spoiler-free in case any Brits pass by - I don't think the episode has aired on Sky yet!)

We'll see how things go, I guess. I maintain that Robert Carlyle is always entertaining, so as long as he's in it and I don't let myself think too hard about what's going on, it'll stay on my watch list for now. :)
