VIXX (Korean: 빅스) is a six member Korean boy band that debuted under Jellyfish Entertainment (other artists under that label are Sung Sikyung, Seo In Guk, Lee Seok Hoon and Park Hyo Shin). VIXX stands for Voice, Visual, Value In Excelsis and consists of members N, Leo, Ken, Ravi, Hongbin and Hyuk. The group aims to become a combination of the best voices and visuals as a team of great heroic value to the industry.

Before debuting, the VIXX members were 6 of 10 contestants featured in the Mnet's reality show MyDol. Several members also appeared in their company’s artists MV’s before debut.

VIXX debuted with "Super Hero" on May 24, 2012 on M! Countdown. On August 14, 2012 VIXX released "Rock Ur Body". On January 17, 2013 “On and On” was released. On May 20, 2013 "Hyde" was released.

With their comeback “I’m Ready to Get Hurt/On and On”, the official name of VIXX’s fanclub was revealed to be ST★RLIGHT. “To VIXX, the fans are like sparkling and shining stars, the fans' ST★R is not VIXX, but VIXX’s ST★R are the fans!!”

N | Cha Hakyeon | 차학연

born: june 30, 1990
position: leader, dance

- the members refer to him as the “skilled performer” of the group, because he is a very great dancer and performer
- appeared in Brian Joo’s Let This Die MV, along with Leo and Ravi
- appeared in Seo In Guk’s Shake it Up MV, along with Ravi and Leo
- he was noticed for his strong resemblance with Boyfriend’s Jeongmin and Kim Soohyun shortly after debut and later he has been compared to Seo In Guk and others
- he has a younger brother and an older sister
- his ideal type is ‘an innocent and well-mannered girl. but it would be better if she had other qualities too.’
- before debut he was part of the musical Gwanghwamun Love Story (together with Infinite’s Woohyun, who he is also friends with)
- took part in 2009 Korea’s Youth Dance Festival and managed to win the grand prize. he created his own choreography, showing that he was able to both create and execute the dance. because of this competition he got offers from SM, YG and JYP
- has an adorable mean face
- is supposedly the most timid member in VIXX (but if you just watch one show with him, you'll see he's not timid at all)
- seems to be the only member everyone is comfortable with
- is scared of roller coaster rides, animals and god knows what else
- has a very cute butt
- acts like an ahjumma all the time, but it's actually just him taking the role of umma of the group very seriously
- shows off his love for leo whenever he can

Leo | Jung Taekwoon | 정택운

born: november 10, 1990
position: main vocal

- Leo is the poker face of the group, mainly because he hardly ever smiles and just sits or stands around all stoic in the background (but when he isn't being stoic, he is the cutest thing you have ever seen)
- appeared in Brian Joo’s Let This Die MV, along with N and Ravi
- appeared in Seo In Guk’s Shake it Up MV, along with N and Ravi
- the members love to tease him about his reluctance when it comes to cute gestures or fanservice
- for the first 7 episodes of mtv diary, he doesn’t say anything. when he does say something, it’s just small words. he also shies away from the camera whenever he can
- the company thought his stage name should be Leo, because he resembles a lion from the jungle
- some of the younger members are afraid of him (*coughs* ken *coughs* hyuk), or at least very awkward (but at other times they are just very close and not awkward at all)
- his ideal type is ‘someone feminine, smart and wise. I don’t have a fixed type, but should I say that the first impression is important?’
- he used to be a member of the National Youth Soccer Players from 2004 to 2007
- achieved level four in taekwondo and won various championships in swimming and boxing
- apparently he has a huge soft spot for babies and puppies and basically every animal he sees
- only cares about the food
- is very violent to the other members, but it's just the way he shows his love hopefully

Ken | Lee Jaehwan | 이재환

born: april 6, 1992
position: main vocal

- he has a lot of individual skills, like impersonations and using weird voices
- was told by Sung Sikyung that he sings well and that he is very cute and young
- is afraid of Leo, but that doesn't stop him from teasing and involving Leo in stuff
- he’s named Ken, because he resembles the Japanese actor Hirai Ken and because his personality is similar to the Street Fighter character Ken
- is one of the ahjumma's together with N (they talk and act like they're old ladies all the time)
- his ideal type is ‘someone with aegyo and who is considerate.’
- his favourite food is instant food and he especially likes chocolate
- he could be described as 4D, Ravi said in an interview that "Ken behaves pretty questionable every day"
- has an unexpected cute side
- holds conversations with the members who sleeptalk
- was the last member to become part of VIXX

Ravi | Kim Wonshik | 김원식

born: february 15, 1993
position: rapper, dance

- he is the mood maker of the group
- appeared in Brian Joo’s Let This Die MV, along with N and Leo
- appeared in Seo In Guk’s Shake it Up MV, along with N and Leo
- although he is very manly and his abs are very delicious and wonderful to look at, don’t be fooled because Ravi is just using them to hide his cute side
- his nickname is Ambidiextrous Rapper
- he came up with his own stage name, because Ravi means being charming and enchanting
- his ideal type is ‘a pretty girl with a sense of awareness. and I like a girl who has proper thoughts.’
- he apparently has graffiti skills
- he likes to drink coffee in the middle of the night
- has an insane amount of hats
- is sleepy all the time, which makes him fall asleep during recordings, musicals and fights

Hongbin | Lee Hongbin | 이홍빈

born: september 29, 1993
position: rapper, vocal

- he is VIXX’s visual, also known as the “hottie and handsome one” or "VIXX's artwork"
- appeared in Seo In Guk’s Tease Me MV
- got a lot of attention because he looks like Se7en
- has a very manly and a very cute side
- his ideal type is ‘a girl who he can connect with, a girl who can read situations quickly and he wants to be able to communicate with her without using words.’
- he has two older sisters
- his favourite food is spaghetti, curry and korean sweet pork
- he is a huge fanboy of Park Hyo Shin and this is also the reason why he joined Jellyfish Company (he said he was the luckiest fanboy in the world, because he is in the same company as his idol)
- the fans call him ullzang (best face) and momzzang (best body)

Hyuk | Han Sanghyuk | 한상혁

born: July 5, 1995
position: dance, maknae

- with being the maknae comes being the cutie of the group, which Hyuk is very good at
- has been recognized for his resemblance to Big Bang’s Seungri
- he is very ambitious
- he is very awkward with Leo and is afraid to be alone with him. he is reluctant to call him hyung (he even wanted to leave the group before debut because of Leo)
- he said that he is more comfortable with N than he is with Leo
- his ideal type is ‘a girl with pretty eyes who doesn’t have men hanging around her.’
- he has an older sister
- is practicing girl group dances to show this particular talent on shows (is this a maknae thing or what?)
- once danced to super hero in his sleep
- according to N, Hyuk likes to think he's manly (and this amuses the other members)
- he showed his sassy side with the on and on comeback

Rovix

- unofficial 7th member of VIXX, aka the mascot of the group
- appears in every MV and often on their clothes and albums as well
- created by Charles Jang
- meant to represent the supreme value that VIXX and its members possess
- "the hero of today's generation"

random VIXX facts
- their dorm is incredibly big and luxurious compared to the dorms of other rookie groups - they look out over the city, they have 2 showers, 3 bedrooms (1 for their manager, 1 very big one for themselves and 1 for clothes/sleeping)
- the members are able to recognize when Leo is in a closed off room, because he doesn’t answer when they knock on the door
- N is considered to be the caring mother of VIXX, whereas Leo is the stern and quiet dad
- the members are incredibly tall for korean standards (their average length is 181cm)
- labelmate Seo In Guk gifted them with a car for their Rock Ur Body comeback
- a lot of fans and critics said that when they debuted, they didn't seem like rookies at all (they were very confident and skilled)

it's always hard to remember who's who when you're new to the fandom, especially when the group has already released various singles (and mv's). fortunately, VIXX doesn't have too many members and they are all quite different, so it's easy to remember them. in case you're new and can't figure out who's who in the different era's, this will hopefully help you a little.
