I really love both the imagery and the bashing of the "normal".

Dear Hwango. GORGEOUS. truly! The contrast between Quezzo'che and the school kids is so extraordinarily well established with almost NO description of him. He will be very lonely on earth, even with his 'transport'. (that sounds a little ... scary? Probably totally harmless tho.)

I feel so sorry for Quezzo'che - earth is not the home for him. But then - Amanda is in Quezzo'che's home? Did he find one who he could communicate himself with? Did he get home with her...oh I do hope so. She won't be happy I fear.

OOOOOoooof - you've done it again, hit me hard in the gut.... just super.

Well, our protagonist is an exchange student, so we had two people trading places. Of course, Amanda thought she was actually going to Canada. Alas, that is not the case. But she's tough - I think she'll manage. = )

Oh crumbs... I thort somehow exchange students were matched, but if QUezzo'che is - erm - who he is, it would be difficult for Earth to find a suitable matching student! Poor girl. But Us Gels are very adaptable and can cope with most things! teehee.!!! XX

OMG, cold, which works because CANADA! I can't remember which tv show it was but everything weird an alien character did got glossed over by the American characters as *shrug* Canadian :)
And it really is cold, so...also the lack of sex or gender in ways humans generally understand it was a nice touch. The memory burning! So much detail with the monstrous "ride" barely described and yet with enough detail readers can imagine the nightmarish vision :)
And then one of your trademark twists, poor Amanda :D

I think the great thing about Canada is that many people in the USA seem to be able to simultaneously believe that it is both just like the USA and a vast alien wilderness populated by crazy people.

Once Amanda has time to adjust, I'm sure she'll be fine. Really. It's not that bad there. Honest. = )

What do you think the children would find most interesting? The towers carved from frozen blood? The second moon, whose light can kill when it is full? The storms of flaming hail? Or shall I skip over such mundane details and tell them about the parts that they would find terrifying?
Ah, so this is Bizarro Canada. :)

Twisted and brilliant, as always.

Wait, you're telling me that Canada doesn't have a second moon?! Was everything I learned in high school a lie?!
