November 2
First laptop-based post in about a week. All the others were written on a cell phone and later downloaded to the laptop via the USB cable. Monday, start of the last workweek in Ottawa. The next week will be a break week for the MPs, so I so not think there will be a lot of work during that time. Today I got to work at 9.30 instead of usual 9.00. Before the work I went to 2 stores to look for a data cable for the camera. One did not have it, the other will contact its supplier and notify me if there is one. I drafter a letter in response to a letter from a constituent, which consisted of 2 draft letters, so I did not go too creative and just tried to make it look good. In the noon we had a tour to the US embassy. One word - security. They are really concerned with it. All the other embassies I've been to are nothing compared to this one in terms of security checks. We were briefed on the general work of the embassy and some of its departments in particular. The building is new, good looking and strict. In the afternoon I was busy with the assignment on the CUPP program writing down my thoughts on an article by George Pinchuk. After the work I went to the rehearsal of the Crimean evening to be held in 2 days. Before that I went to the supermarket to buy some food. Bananas, apples, cookies and canned pineapples. I did not part in the rehearsal, I just watched. But. In the afternoon, at 3.30 PM I went to the committee meeting. It was really interesting, as the process became more animated compared to the previous times I've been there. Some of the meeting participants even were on video conference mode so to say. In the evening I cooked the dinner, then went to sleep for and hour. When I woke up I saw Mat sitting at the table conversing with one of my roommates. He had to go a few minutes later, it appears he came just not long after I fell asleep. Checked the mail, uploaded some posts to the blog, writing down the diary for today and will go to sleep.
