October 21 (written on October 22)
Again I am writing the day after the one I had to. I am becoming lazy. Thursday. Woke up in the, went through the routine procedures of eating and dressing up, First two hours of the workday were spent browsing the internet and looking for some information of Ukraine. At 11 were had a meeting with William Teron, the founder of Kanata (not Canada), a small town outside Ottawa, not considered a suburb. An interesting person and an architect by profession. After the meeting I spent some time idling, but not long, because prior to this I have asked Eric (the legislative assistant to James Bezan) to tell me about the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development, which my MP is chairing as well as about the committee system in the House of Commons and the Senate in general. I have found out a lot of interesting information, mostly on the functioning of the parliament in general and the process of legislation in particular. After this I completed the list of some Ukrainian transliterated and translated phrases I was asked to do. Basic things, such as "Dobroho dnia", "Jak spravy" etc. Hope it will be useful. After the work I went to the hotel, and after that - to the Ukrainian embassy, where the rehearsal of the UPA eveing took place. I was just watching without really helping, because my part consists in accompanying one song (to be played on bandura) with sopilka. But as it was cold relatively outside the bandura was left in the hotel. I watched fellow interns singing and trying to improve the script of the event. After that I went to the supermarket, bought some food, went to the hotel and went to sleep for and hour. That is what I thought. I slept for about 40 minutes, then went to rehearse the song with the bandura. After a few tries we went to sleep,as it was already quite late.
