"I have scheduled a mandatory Conflict Resolution Workshop for all graduate students in this program (and any others who want to attend as well) on April 2 from 4:00-5:00 pm in M615 Medical Sciences Building. This is a requirement from the Graduate School stemming from our participation in the PhD Completion project. If you have an extenuating circumstance that will not allow you to attend, please e-mail me within the next week; otherwise, please plan on attending. Please block this time on your schedules NOW. I will be sending out reminders as the time approaches. Thanks."

This must be the price students must pay for the pizza and dinners and forced socialization.
It sorta peeves me.
I would like to know that the faculty are taking the same class, seperate from the students. Certainly, grad students could really use a dose education in conflict resolution, but it seems counterproductive to train only one set of horses on the four-horse stage coach.
