So... is anyone still out there?
It's been so long, I had to think to figure out how to make a new post!
I'm planning on reactivating my LJ, because there's a lot going on in my life, some of which I shouldn't talk about on my RL Facebook page. First of all, I bought a house! Big step, right? Big move forward into adulthood! Announcing that is pretty funny, considering it happened almost TWO YEARS AGO. But more recently, my job ended, due to decisions made higher up the food chain, and I'm currently living on severance, stockpiling a few more months of cushioning through a freelance gig (which pays less than I was making, naturally), and trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. (Big step backward from adulthood.) And processing a lot of supressed anger at my former company.
Future writings here will, I suspect, largely center around the aforementioned trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. Or, barring solving that particular knot, at least figuring out how I'm going to pay the bills (mortgage! Eeek!) after August.
I haven't been fannish in quite a while, although in a day spent cleaning out a spare box, I stumbled upon the copious notes for a meticulously planned, long-abandoned Buffy fic, and spent more than a few wistful moments thinking about what it would take to reignite it. Probably it would require a rewatch of Buffy and Angel (hardship!). I did mainline both seasons of Daredevil, and binge-watched the first seasons of Flash and Gotham (OMG, I love Netflix, how did it take me this long to embrace it???). I contine to be stymied by the Marvel ascendency - basically, if it contains Thor, Matt Murdock, or Peggy Carter, I'm there, otherwise, I'm happy to wait for the DVD. Which leaves me behind the fannish crowd, I know.
