Strangely enough, all the stuff about mbuna fish is true. And Malawi's motto is "The Warm Heart of Africa," although I made up the town slogan for Sunnydale ( Read more... )

Thanks so much, cc, for your help and support with this, and of course your pimping. (What, exactly, does that make me?) I'm overwhelmed by the response this morning.

Came here via Carolyn Claire and I'm glad I did. This was great. Exactly the Xander fic I've been waiting for since Damage aired. I love the feel of the words. You've got a great Xander thing going here. Just excellent. I'd love to read more if you decide to write.

I hope you don't mind my friending you. :)

Damage just raised the curiosity right up there, didn't it? I was wondering what was going on with the Scoobs, and if we'd find out, and then... "Africa?!?! What's he doing in Africa!?!?!"

Hee. I'm so glad you enjoyed this. I'm just giddy today with all the wonderful feedback.

I don't mind being friended at all. 'slong as you don't mind me friending back!

Feedback is a wonderful thing. And so is Xander. As you will find out from reading my journal at all, I am a complete Xander freak.

Thank you. The research for this was really a joy to do, finding out about all the different countries, the little details about food and drink. Now I really want to go to Africa!

Thank you for reading.

Great job, H. Thoughtful and in character. I've pimped it to the Buffistas.

Thank you so much, C! I'm sort of overwhelmed this morning. Wow... so happy to be writing again. I'd forgotten the high that feedback brings, which is different than the high of the writing itself. I'm sort of bouncing at the moment... ;-)

Wow. You've been to Africa haven't you? And if you haven't, then make that: WOW!

So nice. Mature, fairly self-assured, tender and yet still Xander.

Actually, I haven't been to Africa, but now I'm dying to go. I really enjoyed doing the research on this. I'm just waiting for someone who really has been to Africa to tell me what I got wrong. Then I'll have to do corrections and rewrites and such. ;-)

I'm glad you like my Xander. This is the Xander that I saw emerging out of the more quiet, reserved, and observant Xander of Season 7, and I'm so pleased that people are responding to him. Love the character. For all the danger that he'd turn into his father, I always thought Xander would grow up well.
