Elder Garcia wants seconds.

This week, we met Angel The Prophetess. When we ran into her, she was mopping her concrete porch, stopping occasionally to rub the track marks on her arms and itch her nose. But as soon as she saw us, she put everything down and began a 15-minute sermon on the nature of prayer. She wailed and put her arms in the air, singing at the top of her lungs, "Oh, I wanna thaaaaank you Jeeeeeeesus... Halleluuuuuuuujah... I looooove you Jeeeeeeeeesus..." This went on for a good ten more minutes before she finally tired out on that and let us leave. I won't say most of our contacts go like that, but it's a significant percentage. Orange Mound is nuts.

The South Memphis missionaries are working with a guy who has this story about his whole unit being getting gunned down in Grenada, which caused him to embark on a years-long war with God. He joined the Church of Satan and tried to befriend ministers and slowly erode their faith, eventually causing one to degenerate into an alcoholic and pervert. Kind of a creepy story, but I don't remember there being a lot of mass American casualties in Grenada, so I'm thinking he's nuts too.

Things have been going really well, though... I'm working hard, sleeping well, and feeling good about things. And that's about it. Keep the Faith!
