Well, I'd be happy to try and explain what's going on, but that depends on how receptive you think you'll be. Because this is a very strange place overall and half the people I try to explain it to think I'm crazy. Just to forewarn you.

Where are you staying? I hope the crabs aren't giving you trouble. Never let them bite you, they have a virus in their saliva that...has a very unfortunate side effect. (To put it as mildly as is humanly possible.)

Hey, fine by me. Just making sure you weren't trapped like the girl who showed up yesterday.

Well, I'm just going to throw this out there and let you go with it, then. This is an alternate-reality Earth with a whole bunch of people who've been dragged here from a bunch of other alternate realities. We're all trapped on this island and no one's been able to figure out how to get off. Unfortunately for yourself, your showing up here means you are now in the same situation. Watch out for the three Godzilla-sized monsters that occasionally rampage through the city and don't get too spooked when you see the draconians and the talking animals. Good luck.
