tomboy thrift tuck to ten

after work today around 2-ish i walked out towards my favourite carbohydrate splurge lunch spot: baker's delight for one of the best ever apple & walnut scrolls, like ever - it's such a dessert! i think, and i do mean, and i really do mean that everyone should pull out their cute little purses and fish out $2.20 for an apple and walnut scroll! they are so beautiful and inviting the way they look at you from behind the glass. they are gorgeous round little things, scrumptious and soft with teeny weeny bits of apple inside and walnuts sprinkled on vanilla icing on its head. the perfect scroll! the perfect breakfast and/or lunch partner, inexpensive to be with, lovely to look at, beautiful inside, entirely mute and an absolute delight to touch. oh, you little apple and walnut scroll, you have me had!

i had myself a cheap thrift bargain hunt after work today (unplanned). i spent an hour and a half walking around stores with no design in mind except for the most basic of winter/spring pieces: a feather light printed scarf i can wrap around my neck when i wear tees and shirt dresses in the early month/s of spring! instead, i scooped several items and as an undisciplined body, i've managed to break up my savings intended for my trip to italy and new york with friends next year. :( there's plenty of time to work and there's plenty of time to study, so once i pay off my bills i.e. phone, contacts, transport, food...i can figure out a new savings plan to accommodate occasional thrifty splurges on records, films, clothes, meet & greet dinners and desserts.

BUT! on a lighter and much happier note: i've got to admit that i've never scooped so many bargains on such a tight budget that fitted my style and comfortability, and can also mix & match with my wardrobe. i just wish wish wish i had a pair of cheap white tennis shoes to wear to uni except payless never ever has a AU size 5/US size 3.

i scooped up in my little hands the following: (in $AU)
scarf: $19.95
tulip skirt: $5
white cotton tee: $7.95
printed tee w/v tiny silver studs: $10
black cardigan: $8.95
black 3/4 length tights: $12

i think in some subconscious way i am trying to imitate the style of my favourite model:

i just love her tomboy style: comfortable, simple, basic, easy and effortlessly cool.
i'd talk to her if she was in any one of my tutorials, definately.

p.s. i want to get dressed up on wednesday, i want to be comfortable, casual, self-confident and happy. ♥
how does (my favourite) pair of dark denim skinny jeans, white cotton tee (printed or plain
undecided) underneath a chocolate coloured military jacket, printed fringed blue + white scarf wrapped around the neck, ending with a pair of keds slip-ons/or black ballet slippers sound together? ideal outfit?
jewellery and heavy make-up: BANNED!
