*chuckle* I remember when you bought your late iMac. It was the first with no optical drive, IIRC. I'm still plugging along just fine with my 2011 iMac. The SSD's performance is still snappy after 10 years, and I've got the better part of a TB left on the internal HDD, too. Not seeing any need to upgrade for the foreseeable future. In fact, I fully expect this computer to outlive me. ^^

Yes, I always seem to end up buying a drive to plug in - I still like to rip CDs, for example.

That's very good going! I tend to adopt early and then keep things for as long as possible, so I go from 'wow, state of the art' to 'wow, you still run one of THOSE?'

Speaking of "you still run that?", check this out. I still run Snow Leopard!

Oh nice! Yes, I miss the ability to run certain bits of older software.

I also still have my G4 tower! It runs Leopard and Panther (10.3). I need that to use my legal size scanner, slide/negative scanner, and my preferred music editing/CD creating program. I can even boot into OS9 natively on the G4, though all I need that for anymore is to run ResEdit occasionally. So basically, with my current setup, I can still run any app all the way back to when I got my first Mac in 1985. :-)

Nice! I mostly used OS9 for ImageReady - I've switched to GIMP, which isn't always that friendly. I do love those towers; always admired them in offices.

You're ahead of me by several years of Mac ownership! I got my first one, a Performa, as a 16th birthday present, which would have made it 1993.
