On Saturday I headed down to Winchester through the wind and rain, to meet
le_loup_peint and
raja_laba_laba in front of the cathedral. The plan was to look round the Christmas market, which we last visited three years ago, then have a festive Starbucks and wander the streets.
And so we did, admiring knickknacks, purchasing tiny items and inhaling the festive atmosphere (composed of mulled wine, German sausages, caramelised nuts and dried fruit wreaths).
Guilt-free shopping (it's for other people!), good company, and gingerbread latte - I feel properly festive now. I can also report that luxury, jumbo-sized versions of Tunnock's Tea Cakes, in assorted flavours, are the new Big Thing.
