I forgot that I'm driving a GM and putting my car in reverse is very demanding of the transmission since I'm only supposed to go in reverse around 100 times or so before I'm supposed to scrap the car and get a new one...
Yeah so I back out of a friends driveway, throw it in drive, drive to the other side of the block then try baking into my driveway and was delighted to find that my newly rebuilt transmission as of 10/17/07 no longer had a reverse gear... It was similar to neutral but I could hear the tranny fluid pump a little, and the car moved a teeny tiny itty bit when I gave it a little gas in reverse, not even enough to break the resistance of the tires, it just bobbed back in forth a little...
Weird...
Anyways it's in the shop now, and this shouldn't cost me a dime because the transmission is still under warranty; but we'll see; plus this gave me an excuse to take a personal day :)
One good thing that came of this that just made my day was, when I was skating back home I saw someone walking a Husky; I approached them and they were both friendly :) I got to pet the husky and chat with the owner for a couple minutes, and something happened I never thought possible, I walked away unscathed as the owner did not bite my head off as previously anticipated :) (I'm usually too shy to approach dogwalkers...)
