Exciting weekend

Wooo...
Worked through the weekend; can you feel the excitement?

?

I received authorization to work 16 additional hours this past work week. Neat thing about what I worked on is it could be done almost anywhere. I went into work Sunday for as long as I could stand it, worked on a buncha stuff I didn't want to do at home, went through some inventory which needs to be sorted shortly, as the company is moving, and a major incentive to go through the stuff is the portions of the inventory that are deemed useless may be offered to me-- stuff like the stack of 10.4" and 15" LCD panels I found laying around collecting dust :D).

An extra incentive is eight of those hours are 1½ X overtime and the others are 2 X doubletime... Score!!

I was largely given the task of assembling around 100 cables, half with 6 wires, half with 4. Different lengths, genders, and styles, all crimped/spliced/soldered and twisted. Several hours "work". I was thinking I would get through these this weekend without going crazy by just sitting on my computer desk all weekend listening to music while working on them, but while at kumakehu's place Friday night, I realized I can do something a little more stimulating in the meantime. Kuma was watching a movie with rorydedog which I had already seen. It was then that it dawned on me I could watch something I've seen before without being concerned about missing parts, and I could be entertained in the meantime :). So I watched a bunch of movies I have seen before, but never watched my purchased copy of the DVD. First was Men in Black 2, The Fifth Element (and every scrap of bonus material), Office Space (and was reminded of the great soundtrack again-- so I hopped on Amazon and bought it for a couple bucks :P), The Borne Identity, The Borne Supremacy (and bonus material), (wanted to also watch Super Troopers, but I don't own the DVD-- YET).

And now that I'm finally done with the cables I think I'm going to watch Hot Fuzz. I want to watch that movie uninterrupted since I have never seen it before and it looks funnier than shit :P

Oh, and on a side note plushies are great for back support when you're going to be in a sitting position for an extended time working on little parts you may need to hunch over to look at :).
