Ok, not really.
So, this dude that Dave knows, from Trinity River Guitars, contacted him the other day about getting him and I some instrument "endorsements". When I first heard about this, I thought it was ludicrous. So on Saturday, Dave and I went to Trinity Park to check out what he had. He brought Dave a totally technically fucked up mandolin that looked really nice and he brought a Kona guitar for me to check out. The guitar that he brought was not what I was expecting. I had been reading up on the Trinity River Guitars and they looked like good solid instruments. I hated the way the Kona looked, except for the digital built-in tuner on it. He let us take the instruments home, but before I left, I looked through his catalog and picked out a Trinity River Guitar that I liked.
On Monday, I got to customize the guitar by email. I had him install a digital tuner, an active pickup and a quarter inch jack as well as an XLR jack. Today I picked it up and, quite frankly, I cannot believe the instrument that I now own. This is such a beautiful guitar. It has a matte finish, not a glossy one like most acoustic guitars have. It is really heavy and solidly built. It sounds really loud. It came with a case. It is just an all around bad ass guitar. He sold it to me for 15 percent below dealer cost as an "endorsement". Seriously, this guitar could have sold for $500 in a retail store. Needless to say, I'm totally happy with it and I will totally endorse it.
Here are some pictures of it.
