It has finally happened again!! While I was practicing after my lesson today (which, wasnt really a lesson), it hit me again. I absolutely love playing violin. I mean, performing everything ive done lately is amazing! I really really love it, but the feeling that made me realize that this is what I want to do with my life came back when i was practicing. I finally enjoyed playing my violin for myself, which I rarely do. I love audiences so much that I forget that I also love playing violin for the sake of playing violin. I hope that I never forget that ever again.
So at my lesson today, Carolin asked what I would like to play next. I, obviously, was at a complete blank because I have NO IDEA what I want to play! She asked about Weiniawski, Vieutemps 4, and a couple others, and I dont konw those pieces well so I couldnt really decide like.. on the spot. She then said something like "I know what would be perfect" and went to digging in her piles and piles of music looking for a concerto that she swore laura bantle still had. Finally she found it and asked if I knew who Spohr was. I was quite surprised that I hadn't really heard anything of his, though I've heard the name a couple times. She said that her crazy ex- (the insane one who hates playing violin) played this all the time. She said its quite hard and such and told me that I should do it. Then she said I could do Dvorak, Beethoven, basically wahtever I want to do. Really, I dont know what I want to do, though this Spohr looks quite fun! (she put it in my case without me knowing, so I have a copy to read for the next lesson!!)
She also is having me start Paganini. Help please? I don't konw if i can do the caprices.. im scared..
So what haven't I talkd about (if you havent noticed by now, I'm trying very hard to actually use punctuation and capital letters and such). OH YEAH!! The concert lastnight was awesome! Gig before-hand was interesting, quite cold outside, but fun, though I dont think that I like playing gigs right before concerts. The orchestras did quite well! Im glad for that. Zach and Kim both did quite well as well!!
The trio was actually quite good! We got slightly, ok a lot, distracted by Jon's mute buzzing, but c'est la vie! Overall it went well.
I read through the ciaccona today too! I realized I have a LONG way to go before i consider myself a good violinist! But, Im totally willing to work my butt off for it!!
I want to play Ravel, quartet rehearsal soon.. guys?? Please?????
Yes, so that is what is going on lately. Yep! Talk to you all later!
PS. Did I say how much I love playing violin?
