Ashen and worn.
I feel like crud. I almost wish we had left just to avoid the smoke zone we are in.
The last update we watched after dinner was that the winds have changed direction and have pushed the fires toward a canyon that could be a thoroughfare to us from Rancho Santa Fe. We are coastal, we only live about 2 miles from the beach, but that doesn't mean we are without danger. This fire has been bizarre because the winds have been so high, it has carried embers quite a ways away to drop down and start a new fire. That's our fear. We just prayed over our home and our families.
We are currently packing up as much as we can as far as keepsakes, expensive articles and necessities. Heck, if our neighborhood gets looted, this will be justifiable. heh A few of you have seen my 'hood and this is a pretty realistic fear. :\ 1.5million dollar homes on one end of the street and iffy places of residence on the other... Odd place to live, really.
