Knowing about ghosts and being haunted are two completely different things. You can scoff all you want, but there are spirits trapped on some other plane trying to fuck with you. I've seen it in Japan, and I am sure I haven't seen the last of it. Those ghosts though aren't the difficult ones. They have some other purpose and if you ignore them, or don't even notice you can go about your life without any real worry. There's a few kids out there with a gift or two that leaves them helpless to this, but for most of us? We don't worry about the spirit world. Most of us don't even have time for that kind of talk. Brush it off, or laugh it away. Sounds easy perhaps.
Trust me though, you are still haunted. Every choice you make, every turn you take? Leads somewhere, and if I could have known that things would end up this way? I might have taken a different road.
I'm haunted by more than a sketchy history. Not knowing the truth behind a lot of things that go on in my life is one thing, but waking up in a cold panic is just a highlight of things I get to experience on a day to day.
I'm not a good person. No matter what Jean says, I know that there are things that I have done that mark me a certain way. The choices I made lead to lives being taken at my hands, through my blades. Every child I didn't get to in time, every woman misfortunate enough to love me only to be hurt, every man that got in my way. All of those people wake me at night. There are some ghosts you can't ignore because they aren't really there. They can feel as real as you want to believe, but in the end when you wake up breathing too heavy and wondering just how you managed to stay alive? You'll now that ghosts and being haunted are two completely different things.
