Author Notes: Something that I wrote a while ago whilst go back through NEE, so I thought I would post it, only 550 words long. I would also like to dedicate this to sgmajorshipper for being my rock and a wonderful wife. I've missed her in my absence!

When he got home from the hospital after a long shift his roommate was propping herself up on the back of the couch taking deep breaths, steadying herself, “Are you okay?” Merlin implored looking up from his satchel, having been looking for his book.

She nodded and swallowed back the sick that threatened to come up her throat, “I’m fine,” she smiled, feeling suddenly better, “Tea?”

“I’ll make it,” he said leaving his book marked on the page over the arm of the sofa, “Sit down until you feel better,” he offered leading her around and forcing her to sit down and gave her the remote, “We got any chocolate?”

“Did you buy any?” she asked, knowing full well that he wouldn’t have been to the shops, he never did go if he could help it. He said that Sainsbury’s was so pretentiously huge that he scared him. Gwen couldn’t help but laugh, it honestly wasn’t that bad a place, and she usually went into the smaller Tesco nearer the hospital because it wasn’t completely out of the way.

“Nooooo,” he stretched mock-guiltily as he grinned at her.

“Then it’s in my bedside table.”

“Excellent,” he left, sticking his head and left arm inside the kitchen to hit on the kettle before he moved off towards the front door and Gwen’s room. He opened the door to the bedside cabinet of her eternally neat room. A plastic bag with a small box in it fell out onto the wooden floor. Merlin was all for privacy, and she wouldn’t go through his things so he picked it up - tempted to look in it - and shoved it back into the cabinet and plucked out the chocolate.

Temptation bubbled in him to look into the bag, he eyed it suspiciously knowing all too well where the bag was from but there were many things Gwen could have from there that would amount to a box of a similar size. He could have poked the plastic down in order to read the label on the box to find out but he resisted slamming the door shut with a little more force than usual. It was nothing to do with him. He went to reach out to open it again but forced himself up and out of her room, the kettle had popped.

His mind remained on the box as he prized the milk carton from the fridge and started to fill their usual mugs with the white liquid. The nausea, the faint-spells, he knew what he spelled out as much as she did. Perhaps- no. It was none of his business, if he needed to know, she would tell him, he convinced himself.

“Nothing to do with me,” he said, punctuating each word with a movement, removing the tea bag from the cup and throwing it into the waste produce bin.

He presented Gwen with her bar of Galaxy and her cup of milky tea and settled on the sofa next to her, “What?” she asked him after thanking him for her drink, he was looking at her funny and it was unsettling.

“Nothing.”

She snapped off a line of chocolate and handed it to her roommate, “Here,” she repeated her action and discarded the rest of the bar between them on the sofa. She dipped it into her hot tea and sucked on the melted chocolate, “You okay?”

“Yeah, fine, you?”

“Perfect.”

END NOTE: Hey guys, I've been really busy recently, with being away, at work or doing my final bits of my universtiy year. Today I've been chilling whilst watching Wimbledon, eating Raspberry sorbet so I thought I would post this up. What else? Oh, in my free time (little though it is) I've been watching s5 of Primeval and WHAT A SERIES! I've actually got an idea for a Jecker/Conby filler fic for between eps 4 and 5, so look out for that in coming weeks because chances are (with working tomorrow, Friday and Saturday and heading to Wimbledon on Sunday night to watch the quarters on Monday from Henman Hill (I refuse to acknowledge it as Murray Mound who cares if he's 'British', he doesn't see himself as part of the collection so why should I?) hopefully I'll get to see Roddick play, what a dream come true that would be, he is such a brilliant player and today's match was just awesome. ANYWAY! I'll be back in the 'real world' again as of tomorrow morning so I'm making the most of my world whilst I can. Annnnd re-lax. See you all asap. And I promise, in the time I do get, I am slowly working on prompts, I will get them done eventually!
