I have looked into my enemies eyes and have seen hatred evil and pure
Their need and desire to kill not only me but everything I stood for, was sure.
To defeat them and live and protect what was mine was something that I had to do
Though the outcome was not always certain, Akihito, I never knew fear until you.
I have gone into turf wars, fighting hand to hand battles, the scars I could show you for proof.
My guards have spent many nights at my bedside wondering if I would pull through.
The cuts and the bruises, the life threatening wounds, have taken their toll, it is true
Though I suffered the blows and sometimes cried out, I never knew pain until you
I have fought side by side with the best of the best; of their loyalty I always was sure
It was something that I never questioned at all, their love for me simple and pure
Their trust in me, always a powerful force, their fierce protection of me through and through
Showed me that I had plenty of love in my life, but I never knew love until you
I have lived a hard life, maybe not a pure life, my mistakes were scattered and few
In every situation I knew who I was and exactly what I had to do
My choices were sure, no regrets have I had, to my subordinates I have always been true
Though my time on this planet has been 35 years, I never knew me before you
I have been told by those I have led into battle they would follow wherever I go
Though their loyalty to me has never given me pause there’s something that you need to know
I’ve loved and I’ve lost, learned to live with the cost, of a Yakuza’s lonely life, it is true
But that loneliness is done and in the past now, I no longer want to live without you.
