Been awhile since I have seen a tree frog!

Peek-a-boo (pretty sure that this is an Eastern Screech Owl, although not much of him was visible) This was a thrill for me, because I haven't had the chance to see very many owls that were not part of a bird rehab facility or a zoo. While Sawgrass Lake Park is not quite "in the wild", (it's not like deep woods, or anything) this was definitely a non-captive bird. Almost missed him on the way out...something about the hole in the bird nest box looked a little lighter than the rest of the hole. Expected a snake as that's the last thing I saw inhabiting one of these boxes, but got a very pleasant surprise!

I think this is a Florida Box Turtle. (I know it isn't a slider or a softshell, so this is the most likely candidate, although I'll admit, I'm a bit weak on turtle IDs)

Not quite "and a partridge in a pear tree" - it's a guy out walking his macaw in the park! :-)
