Shelter kitties are THE best. That's the only place we acquire our furry babies. We have 1 of each at this time (1 canine, 1 feline)

Yay! Lol. It wasn't my original intention to make him a cat but my muse just fell that way as I was writing so I went with it and it's been fun. :)

And yes, rescued/shelter furbabies are THE best! Our 3 dogs and 2 cats all either came from the pound or would have been sent there if we didn't bring them home. (The rabbit's the only one who doesn't fit that mold! LOL!) Best. babies. (My icon is from when the cats were babies; they're full-grown, handsome young men these days ;-))
