dumb gimp networks i leech off of...haha. anyhow, here's the updates.

Tuesday: did some fun stuff like going fluke fishing with some relatives for a good long while. great stuff...i had to wake up at 0400 to get going...took me 45 min. to eat breakfast cuz i was so sleepy...and somehow dad manages to shift gears into the one with red tape and "DO NOT USE" tape stuck all across it: New Yorker Mode. i kid you not, he was doing at LEAST 45 on crowded urban roads. if there wasn't a gap, too bad; he made one. on more than one occasion, i saw my life flash before my eyes. anyhow, made it to the marina in one piece and found our boat...which broke a nut...NO, not *that* nut, you sicko! but yeah, we found a different boat that ran the same hours & such, so began our fluke-hunt, it did. but yeah, don't know what a fluke is? think flounder, but with tougher flesh. caught the most fish (both overall total and keepers) out of my group. each caught at least one keeper. i also caught some fish other than flukes, such as a sea robin and a blue fish. the latter got filleted, the former just got chucked back. but yeah...it was great. i hear the blue fishes really put up a fight; too bad i missed it. i had gotten a serious case of backlash (ask, and i'll explain), so i was busy untangling the line when the captain blew the horn, signalling 'lines-up, we're moving on.' my line's still like 25' down, so i frantically pull it up by hand, only to find resistance as i got closer. i look down, and there's a fish there! go figure. stupid bugger sure ate through my bait, hook & all. we had a great turnout with like 7 keepers, which we divvied up amongst ourselves to eat. only bad thing about the trip was i had nil energy when i got back, hence the 13-hour sleep. however, there was a catch: had to stay up an extra hour to find a parking spot. it was BAD...one of the reasons i'm GLAD i don't live in NY. ok, shoot me. i'm crazy. but yeah...i missed the fireworks. too bad; oh well.

Wednesday: i went around with the folks & shopped with the grandparents. not too fun, but when i peeled away, i bought a buncha shirts & another set of pants. speaking of shirts, i saw a girl with a funny shirt on. it said, "Boys are like sparklers. They're fun, but they fade fast." sooo wrong on so many levels, but so true at the same time. dinner was a hoot, complete with cute waitress. yeah yeah, shut up....i'm hopeless, i know. got into a nice chat about music with my uncle, who's a DJ by the way. so that rounds it up.

anyhow, i'm just sitting around now, at an ungodly-early hour, spending the last few hours i'll have in NYC. after this, i mosey down to NJ to visit more relatives, complete with a lil' cousin who until this point, was just as tall as a college/pro/olympic height high hurdle (42", for those of you track unsavvy disgraces =P). peace out.
