hey people... i should be packing or something to move into my new place, but instead i feel like ranting on some politics or something and passing out for work at 8am.
I stopped doing low-carb seeing as i got a stomach virus or something last week. i doubt it was from doing that diet, but i got below my goal weight (180) anyway and it'll be good for me to eat normally for at least a month. I looked up some numbers on what a person like myself should eat and made a small table that i've been following pretty well so far.Lean Gain/Fat Loss Example:
Here is the daily Protein, Carbohydrate, and Fat intake for a 180 pound person.
Protein: 180 grams = 720 calories
Carbs: 360 grams = 1440 calories
Fat: 72 grams = 648 calories
Total Caloric Intake = 2808 calories
I've been keeping the total calories at around 2000 so far, and not eating for at least 3 hours before i go to sleep. I'm happy with the shape I'm in but it wouldn't hurt to lose a few more eventually.
While i was sick i watched hours of CNN. The world should realize that JFK is the only good choice for 2004. I'll be happy at least if everyone I know can tell me that they at least went out and voted... get your voice heard! Kerry, Bush, Nader, yourself... just vote. Todd and I talked a little about the election, inevitably, and both of us will be voting Kerry. I honestly think that Nader would be a great president except for the fact that he's not a powerful presence at the podium and I know he won't get nearly enough votes to do anything but ruin Kerry's chances.
I also like the fact that Kerry reminds me of Clinton. Clinton was a great president that handled our economy terrifically. He had a plan, got it done in four years, and expanded it during his last term. Bush talks and talks about the jobs he's "created" and our "growing economy", but always ends up talking about "small business" and everyone starting their own businesses. It'd be great for the US to be a bunch of individual entrepreneurs, but it's not realistic. The world isn't and can't become a big flea market of bartering small business owners. Clinton got production up and let businesses expand which created more jobs for people who didn't have the ideas and tools to start their own businesses. Minimum wage increased, people were employed, and families had homes. Bush NEVER wants to talk about how the economy is growing and where he plans for it to be in the next 4 years. In his speeches, Bush clings to the ongoing threat of "terror" in our country and how much of a leader and protector he is. I GUARANTEE that if he gets re-elected this "terroristic threat" and "War On Terror" WILL continue for another 4 years just because it's the only thing he can show us results for. On the left side, however, if Kerry wins I bet the focus in the news gets off of Al Qaeda and back on our economy and homeland JOBS. People were being arrested for the same "terroristic acts" before Bush, but we didn't hear about it because it's been going on forever... people plotting to blow things up or kill another person. It's just like scratching a rash or something... you're just giving it more attention and making it worse. Once those towers fell, Bush and his advisers were quick to jump on and throw all their resources into the "war on terror project"... he needed something that he could successfully accomplish or something to make his legacy and he saw the opportunity in making a war. We could've tightened security and stopped the threat without the ongoing troops overseas in the numbers they are and totally changing their form of government.
Well it's 1am... I could go on forever after seeing Arnold talk at the RNC about his patriot love of the republican party since the day he stepped foot in our country but you're sick of reading and I need sleep. Read it again and respond if you feel so inclined. I'm open for discussion and like to hear everyone's point of view. Vote
