death.

its been a sombre past few days. a great leader has left for the afterlife, and I'm writing, because I'd want to remember this day.

Thank you Mr Lee, for your vision and contribution to this nation. I look across the border, and I realize that what I see is what Singapore could have been, without your leadership. I've contemplated on how to define my grief, as grief is often felt when the loss is one that's personal. In this case, its devastating because you gave your best for your fellow Singaporeans, their offspring, and the generations yet to be born into this world. I am truly amazed at your intellect and vision, your dedicated leadership. You took the paths no one dared to venture, made the choices no one would have the courage to execute.

No words are enough to express my gratitude.

Thank you for giving me a home.
Thank you for the great education I have received.
Thank you for the clean water i get from the very taps in my home.
Thank you for our efficient transportation system.
Thank you for our clean roads.
Thank you for your vision on a clean and green Singapore.
Most of all, thank you for being a true patriot.

All in all, I believe the reason which explains this grief, is that we lost a legend. Rather, we lost the best of us Singaporeans. We lost the man, that made us a special breed, a special nation. We lost the person who we knew would always be there to lead and guide us into an even brighter future, as proven through 31 years in Cabinet. We now, can only hope, that current leaders, would be able to have that same vision and drive you had, to ensure that a great man's life work, continues for eternity.

And now, at the crossroads, more than ever, we need Jesus.
